Sara Al Amoudi
In 2010, the UK media (Mail on Sunday) claimed that a self-styled "Saudi princess" had claimed to be his daughter. There was no evidence of such a claim being made other than as media speculation and any such claim was forcefully denied by George Salem, lawyer for Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi, after a court case in London that was unrelated to the Sheikh, had ended.
Ethiopian Review
Sheikh Al Amoudi issued legal proceedings against the editor and publisher of the Ethiopian Review for libel, in the United Kingdom High Court. The papers charge the defendant: “has gravely injured the reputation of the Claimant, has exposed him to public scandal, contempt and odium and has caused him considerable embarrassment and distress”. The proceedings relate to articles in the publication relating to stories on Sara Al Amoudi which claim she is the daughter of Sheikh Al Amoudi. This has strenuously been denied by Sheikh Al Amoudi.
The United Kingdom High Court has subsequently judged in favour of Sheikh Al Amoudi on the basis the defendent failed to file any acknowledgement of service or offer any defence.
