What kind of business he is running? When everyone gets poorer he is getting richer. Mohammed Al Amoudi, payback your damn debt from Ethiopian banks! There is no wonder why the country is running out of foreign currency. Can you all Leba Woyanes at least save your looted money in Ethiopian banks? While your foreign bank accounts getting fatter, the country's economy is on its way to death.

Obviously he doesn’t think he has got enough. Because of him our people are chased out of their home so he can erect his mansions and business.

He never cares for the poor and the homeless he made. He never build a home for the poor. He only gives money to the powerful so he can get more money not for the needy.

He is using his money to buy influence and to extend Woyanes breathless life.

We would be better of without him.

Gadaa girl,
can your brain think something other than religion and tribe? I think you should settle in Wiziristan or central Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for that matter. You can have everything you want including 6 other women to share your "husband" and of course the Sharia law to authorize a stoning anytime you cause "shame" to your family. Yep, that simple, no need to annoy us here with your creepy utterances.

Free you cannot even hide your disturbing emotion of rage that this brother is wealthy while you are still doing the same job as your ancestors being the Zebegna for your neighborhood "Fitwawrari X" it is so disgusting the way you demonstrate your jealousy. FYI the man created his own bank with his capital to finance his business ventures inside Ethiopia

The question that no one can answer either inside Ethiopia or abroad is where does the first million dollars came from? Several people who knew him in Saudi Arabia were saying that he was the driver for this filthy rich Arab family. From driver to billionaire it is a huge leap in socio/economic status in just 30 years - there is a saying: "Yetim fishuw dukatun amchew"
It does not matter where the money came from and how he became this wealthy as long as he provides job for Ethiopians

Look, before he entered into Ethiopia, he only has 2.5 billion. Now working hand and glove with woyanne he is raping Ethiopia and eating it to the bone. His finacial growth could be an indicator of the shelter he is giving to the looted money by woyanne officials that comes as donation, loan and developmental assistance. He is not the 43rd richest, but the 43rd greediest person in the world. Why is he not falling the cliff as other investors? It's because of undocumented and looted money from Ethiopia and the name of Ethiopian poor.

I have nothing but respect to any one who intends to invest or already have invested in Ethiopia. But, the Alamoudi saga goes beyond the usual business routine. Mr. Alamoudi seen by most Ethiopians at home and abroad as the lone savior of the nation who gives a lot for nothing in return. Although, the truth sits otherwise but this myth has been around for a long time.

Mr. Alamoudin has been the single share holder of his company with out any opposition in the country with almost none anti trust laws. With bulk of hand outs to the gov’t officials and quick pro quo, he managed to monopolize almost every investment sectors with swift and systematic schemes to accomplish vast and lucrative profits. His one year proceed from gold mining lease may have surpassed his entire investment in that field. A 50% growth is expected by 2010 and this automatically doubles his net earnings by the same amount. No concrete labor laws, no business anti trust laws, no environmental regulation acts and certainly no government control, he has been the divine and goddess of business in Ethiopia with out scrutiny and zero competition. Developing Common Sense Business & Regulations for conducting investment in Ethiopia do not exist due to the corrupt nature of the TPLF gov’t and the country’s outdated business design. Alamoudin and his many cronies are smart enough to take advantage of these flaws.

Imagine when an investor would become the lone share holder, when assisted by the state to eliminate his/her business rivals, abide by no anti trust laws; gets the most financing from the nation’s central bank and use that to help grow his/her enterprise inside and outside the country. These are exactly Alamoudin’s business exercises in Ethiopia for the past 19 years. With these kinds exceptionally favorite business environment who would have not succeeded?

Due to the current global economic downturn, many of the worlds Billionaires have seen their fortune vanished tremendously in a short period of time. Warren Buffet’s declined by 25 Billion. Alamoudin is one of the very few members of this exclusive club who have seen his wealth kept a steady growth. The main reason for his success is – his unlimited, uncontrolled, unregulated very rewarding business practice in Ethiopia.

This richest man in Africa boyfriend of Meles Zenawi, I see him with Meles in video you tube more than Meles with his wife so many times. Where ever meles goes this rich man goes with him to night clubs and other events in the region. This month he was with Meles in night club dancing with Meles Tigrigna songs.

I wonder how much money this richest man gave to Meles Zenawi as a bribe to do business anywhere he wants and how much money of Ethiopia looted by Meles and his Adwa cadres hiding for them??

If Meles steps down from power, Ethiopians make sure this richest man put him in custody for interrogation for hiding for these looters and all the bribes he gave and to whom he gave and how much before Meles goes to exile with his ADWA cadres

I am happy for this man who has worked hard for his wealthy and he certain does a lot of good things for Ethiopia. The $2 billion that he invested is certainly huge job creation for hundreds of people who are making living working for his companies/business.

Those of you, who are crying like babies, get your lazy ass act together and start investing in Ethiopia instead. None of you have any evidence that this man has done anything wrong in Ethiopia but yet, you set your lazy us here and accuse him of things he have nothing to do with. We should be proud that we have our own blood brother from Africa (Ethiopia) that is making it in the top 50 riches person in the world. What do you expect? Just only runners to become on the top of the world? I have great respect for this man and for any person who works hard and earns good money. Most of you probably don’t even know anything about him but you are here taking cheap shots at him just because he is doing better than all of you. I think this is typical habesha jealousy who cannot bear to see another habesha succeed. What a shame folks…

Mr. Alamooudi can invest his money any where in the world but he chose Ethiopia because he is half Ethiopian. Investers like him are very hot commodity every where, especially in civilized countries. Well in countries like Ethiopia where all are politicians, economists, philosophers, agriculturalists, rocket scientists with out ever reading a book in their life, I wouldn't wonder if they are an investment experts too. The question they have to ask themselves is: do we want capitalism or not?. If yes, and if some one invests and gets profit, well, power to him. Don't get jelous, that is the name of the game.

I hope he is investing only in the economy because if he tries to invest in his religion he will lose every respect. By that I mean if he uses his riches to build Mosques then his claim of economic investor would be indoubt. He will be one of those wild savage Saudis who won't allow one Church in their land and builds thousands in other countries. These should never be allowed in Ethiopia.

Sheik Al-a-Moudeen,

God made you rich so you would share with your poor Ethiopian people. I know you gave only $1 million to the Clinton foundation. Thank you. But, that is only 0.09%! I think you can do better than that. Please, give at least your tithe, one thenth for some good cause in Ethiopia including health care, education and forestry development. Your industries are contributing to polution, i.e, killing future generations; you have single-handedly inherited the gold-mines and other natural resources which were kept in tact by the preceding governments.

You have inherited thousands of acres of land in Oromia and SNNPR which used to belong to the royal family. You have fenced the rich agricultural land near Wondo Genet and kept it desolate fenced for over 10 years. Why don't you produce some grain there? Mind that 4.9-15% of the population are starving now. Also, do not forget your youth in Ethiopia when your people in Wollo were undergoing terrible famine.

no one is perfect and we all have our goods and bads. most people who use to admire alamoudi turend against him after the election for the sole reason of politics. for them his investment creating jobs and hope in the country means sh't compare to politics. they wrongly think every job alamoudi creates gives meles one hour to his rule and not worth it. but the fact is poverty is the fertile ground for staying in power because a hungry man only thinks where his next meal is coming from. so you have to stop hating and targeting people who invest in ethiopia on the notion they are extending the government's life. alamoudi and any invester in any country has to be close to the government for business reason but if you push and threatened them, instead of understanding that simple fat, they will have more reason to be even closer.

The guy is great!! So great. I salute him. those of you having nonesensical criticism as usual, just make noise untill you die while others are making millions, while others are governing, while others are building our country through their balanced comments and opinions or through their little but noble acts. I don't know why some morons are still thinking about tribes or insulting others all the time. Muslims are great people.Islam is great faith through some like OLFs and and other trible kind of terrorists abuse it.
Ethiopia and ethiopias are all good so please build our country and history. Some even comment as if they are the only saviours of our country. Amharas, Oromos, Tigrian and others are all good people. No one has the right to abuse them and any other community in Ethiopia. We are all equals and brothers and sisters!
Together we can do more, let everyone try to get rich through working hard so that we can build our country instead of insulting others who did something!
with this finally I congratulate our brother who achieved so much!

To my best of memory, in most publication that I read they evidently stated this guy as a Saudi citizen. Does he like to be just Saudi guy for the heck of influential business strategy or it is the media hastily assigning him as one. I believe it is not a bad venture for an Ethiopian to own the country's Gold Mines or other big businesses as opposed to Europeans as in most cases in Africa.

We hear that this man invested a lot in the country and this should be highly commendable. Having said that, what we don’t have is QUANTIFIED/TRANSPARENT/INDEPENDENTLY REGULATED evidence as to how the country or ordinary citizens are benefiting from this man’s massive investments in comparison with his ever bulging profit margin. Is he illuminating other potential Ethiopian or foreign investors/competitors through his STRONG association with the evil government? All evidence points that way.

As elcad beautifully put it, there are so many alarming issues regarding the way he conducts his businesses in Ethiopia.

If he is for Ethiopia’s long term development as mentioned over and over again (ye kurt ken Lij as they called him on his biography, whatever the hell that means), why is he not investing intensively on what matters to Ethiopians most i.e. long lasting food security for Ethiopians by investing in modern, large scale agriculture rather than cash crops to export and add to his margin? That would make him an honourable man.

Instead of pimping the country’s land to Saudi Arabia with Evil Zenawi, he should show his so called care/affection for his country and his capabilities of doing what the Saudis are doing in Ethiopia (grow some food to feed their nation).

Didn’t the so called Ambassador in the UK dumbly admitted the other day that 240 Saudi owned companies collectively invested $2.5 billion? Why the need to infiltrate Ethiopia with so many Arab companies for such little amount? $2.5 billion may sound humongous but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how tiny this investment is in real terms. Especially when divided between 240 Arab firms! Surely Al Amoudi by himself is capable of matching that unless there is some kind of unhealthy domination game going on!!

I have been real supporter of this man for a while but the more I absorb his deeds/associations, either in Addis or else where, I have come to question his stand/motives. Most people have come to realize that this man is in Ethiopia to milk the country in the name of investments WHILE GIVING AS LITTLE AWAY.

Could he also have incentives to spread Islam on behalf of Ethiopia’s long term enemies Saudi and co? As they say, money is the source of all evils ...

As for TPLF rug thugs and some Muslim radicals here who label everybody with rational/wise thinking as Amhara, neftena, derg etc, please try and see things from a broader perspective. By labelling every rational thinking/intelligent Ethiopians as Amhara, you are discrediting/insulting other tribe’s intelligence. Don’t be narrow, blind or short sited. After all, God gave you brains to use it wisely.

For Muslims here: Do you honestly consider this man as religious or model Muslim? Or you are just supporting him blindly just because he is Muslim? Can you honestly say his actions reflect any religious/morale grounds? ABSOLUTELY NOT! The only thing Muslim about this man is his name and association with Saudi Arabia.

For TPLF rats: If this man by any chance comes out on INTERNATIONAL media tomorrow and strongly opposes weyane publicly, would you still be supporting him and sing all the investment songs you are currently singing? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT! You would automatically brand him as Neftena Amhara and cast solitary confinement as you often do. I am pretty certain that you would have total disregard to all the investment side of things in no second.

I believe this very SHAMELESS and CHAMELEON like nature/attitude of most Ethiopians combined with very narrow, less flexible ways of thinking is what is holding Ethiopia/Ethiopians behind almost every single nation on planet earth in every single way!!

THINK BRODLY, WIDEN YOUR HORIZONS … wake up! It is perfectly natural to disagree, what isn’t natural is labelling people whenever they think rationally.

Your hate for the Amhara makes me doubt your sanity. Most Amhara bashers suffer from inferiority complex; yours may be much more than that. May be there is no cure for you and no body cares about that. Keep hating but rest assured that you and you likes harm themselves before they do harm to anybody. Congratulation!

There is an xerox copy of the Al-Amoudin type Gub eda in our book of precedences, the bible, who came to the scene for a brief period of time under the same gloomy circumstances of the present, and people were shaken
with fear and uncertainity knowing very well of his background and capabilities. He passed away of course and the lesson somehow got lost on subsequent generations.

Al-Amoudin has solely replaced the multitudes of indigenous and rightful princes of all stripe: Rases, Keng-Azmaches, GraAzmaches, Fitawraris, Bejeronds, Lijs, Atos, etc., and has magicaly owned the symbol of our king's blessing i.e, Hulu Beju, Hulu Bedeju. Not bad for a person who came from nowhere and now controlls pretty much everything that once belonged to the people.

Al-Amoudin would be 75% pure Arab and 25% Ethiopian mix because his father's a Yemen and the Woello tribe on his mother side are mostly descendants from Syria and are maiden children of the Tigreans or Eritreans.

He and other northern agents of the current mild punishment mode are the consequences of the "Sin of heart" (sin and lawlessness are synonymous with the heart and snake) as clearly expressed in the first several chapters of Jermiah or Ermias. In it, God chastise his people on a range of issues all related to his laws, from not trembling before him and not paying attention to his words to the rejection of his laws by "committing adultery and trooped to the houses of whores," and false uttering prophets, "An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?"

Congratulation again Al-Amoudin and please take it easy on our national wealth. And do not corrupt our people nor defile our young girls by sleeping with them. Stop taking advantage of us unless your children and grandchildren ... become our servants and inferiors.

Wow this is good News! Let God bless him more and more!!!!! But what makes him special and unique from others is that he is so kind and generous .... imagine what would have his place , had he not shared all his wealth to the poor, to some very important people like Tilahun Gesese and all others ..He helped many humaniterian projects, students, religious groups... and all others!God blesses the one who blesses others .. and I think He is always being blessed by God, as he himself blesses others with all what he could and he is somebody who loves to do something to his motherland. Who in the history of Ethiopia invested this much money in Ethiopia even when the business is not that economical and profitable???? Nobody!! If we value good heart and mind together with the wealth they have, I think our Alahmudin would be the first richest person in the world! I say this simply b/c others are not generous as him. They have the money and they do nothing with it except playing a game as we have observed in the US recently.

So Thank you Mr Alahmudin and I hope and excpect that you will be the first richest man in the world very soon!! God is there to show us!

God bless you Mr Alahmudin and God bless Ethiopia!!

For the blinded by Amoudi’s wealth with heavy appetite for money Al Amoudi is their god.

The welfare of Ethiopia and people are not their concern. And this typical of Woyane supporters because he is their right hand. No body else likes this Saudi agent.

They will worship him and lick the ground he walks on. Everything Amoudi does is wonder regardless of how many people’s life has been destroyed.

Those millions of people left homeless by Amoudi business venture is not bothersome. They don’t even want to see the down side of this business scheme.

Selling Ethiopian national properties as the gold mine and so on to one person is a great business venture.

When they are questioned about morality and nationality they start playing this ugly religion and race card to hid their uncontrollable greed.

Please know what you are talking about.
In Ethiopia we have respecteful pupulation of Muslims and non-muslims. We are friends.

Those of you exceptional haters like "Free", stop insulting Islam cause you are insulting us too.

Those of you who think Al-amoudi is doing something to islamize the country blah blah don't know how to think. Do you know that selling alcohol is haram (unlawful)? Then Alamoudi is owning Sheraton that sells alcohol. Yes, sheikh is not always a religouse title.

Anyway, I respect the man as an investor. And I don't know if, as people say is corrupt with our govt. It true, that's so sad cause it's at the cost of our poor population. But all that is here is a romour.

It is stupendously ironic to see your outrage. Even if you proofed to be staunch supporter of TPLF and that puts you contrary to my belief, I respect your conviction because I counted you as a different caliber. But, seeing your Akaki Zeraf just because some of us questioned Alamoudin’s business practice in Ethiopia is appalling. I don’t bring my self to call you mouth piece because I don’t know you that well but certainly you didn’t use your best judgment when you were attacking people who happens to hold different opinion from you. Net Worth:$9.0 bil
Fortune:self made
Source:oil
Age:63
Country Of Citizenship:Saudi Arabia
Residence:Jeddah
Industry:Oil
Education:NA,
Marital Status:married, 8 children

Born in Ethiopia and now a Saudi citizen.

According to the above data he is a very rich Saudi citizen and also have some business in Ethiopia.

If this rich man loves Ethiopia and do fare business and lift up the living standards of many poor Ethiopians, that is a good thing.
The key issues are is he doing fare business where Ethiopia benefits from his investment? or did he get free ride to accumulate wealth for himself at the expense of the full citizens of Ethiopia?
Many commentators above have raised fair issues such as is there a transparency so that the citizens know what their country is benefiting. Is he dealing a sweet deal with government officials so that he can reap the whole wealth by the name of investment? is a good question to ask as citizen.

One statement stating he hit the jackpot and dig out gold strikes my head a little bit mainly because I don't know how this business deal is operating. He just was lucky to hit the jack pot? who else bought the lottery ticket? What is the percent of Ethiopia's share for every gram of gold? Or is he only paying for labor to dig out the gold and all product is his or what?

You tell me there is richest man in the neighborhood that is very poor. What good would that wealth do for the neighborhood is the critical question.
Those who know how the business is carried out could educate us to understand the subject. Otherwise in a country with utterly no transparency it will only be wild guess.

If could be resourceful he can help Ethiopia by establishing credits to small farmers who really need to get it badly. He can lift the life of those producers by using his resources with reasonable interest. If he did that result will be seen clearly. Otherwise he may be good only for himself.

This man is truly amazing. Its true he has borrowed from Ethiopian banks, but you think all those people in the forbes list don't borrow from banks. Come on man, thats what a bank is there for, to borrow money from for investing, mortgage, loans for studying/starting a business, expanding and so on...
If we want to expand in Africa, and have infistructure for sanitation, better hospitals, high number of schools that are maintained well, bigger and better factorys to process in, better farming techniques and equipments, better sourcing and processing of raw materials and so on we need one of these two things,
1) Better coalition and co-operation between all the businessmen, government bureaucrats, political activists and lobbyists and local tribe/clan leaders.
2) A banking system that is transparent, free and fair, and one that encorages with-in its aims, the expansion and stategic objectives of
working with and helping businesses and encouraging new ones

We should all be proud of Al-Amoudi!

But the Billioinear did nothing for her.I begged in the streets of Addis ababa and on different news papers for donations under"Ke Mote Adinugn"and ew got satisfactory response from ordinary people,Ethiopian Air Lines, some banks and her school mates[Micro information College].Thank you all.Besides the billioinair,i remember what Mohamed Ahemud[was my hero up untill that time]answered to a group of 11 students -when they told him and asked him for help that the 18 year old student was about to die unless she goes abroad for further medical treatment and who were raising donations for my daughter [from her college], shokingly enough, he barked," SO WHAT !"
Dear all,I'm not saying that the above individuals had the obligation to help/rescue my daughter as she was begging them for help to stay alive, but I'm saying they could do better-even one birr? I personally don’t care for Mr. Al Amoudi or anyone in his economic class. These are people whose economic interest comes first and they are prone to corruption and shady deals if it suits their agenda. However, I also find it amusing to read a barrage of disconnected and contradictory narratives which bear the familiar hallmark of the old myopic and bigoted Christian mentally coming from people like Elcad and the old WC aka, Addis Girl. Did we have “labor laws” or “anti trust laws” when the midget emperor Hailessillasie was in charge? Did Ethiopia have a national budget? Did Ethiopia have a minimum wage or any kind of civil and business laws when the street thugs from the Mengistu era were reigning? What I see is a collection of armchair critics who have done nothing to better their country. The people you are disrespecting fought, died and bled for deep rotted values they believe in and they will lead this country until a better suited new generation takes over. As far as I am concerned, you have nothing new to offer but the tried and failed old tribal values of yesterday which drove Ethiopia to her grave.

Seems like the guy has invested in every imaginable industry/business class.
With the 9.0 billion behind him, and TPLF assited and tilted laws to favor him, supported by mafia-style intimidation of the competition, he has proven himself to be the oligarch.

However, since his political allaince is obviously with the current government, it seems that he runs a risk of losing his investment should there be a violent overthrow of TPLF. Even with peaceful transfer of power, he risks being under the watchful eye of today's oppostion, tomorrow's power holders.

He should start putting his eggs in different baskets. Personally, I advocate for the investigation of his entire business empire in Ethiopia and the movement of his money within and out of ethiopia for telltale signs of money laundering and unfair trade practices. He has clearly shown utter contempt for the southern people by employing daily laborers from Tigray region when he could have easily found better skilled day laborers in the southern regions where most of his investments are.

With regard to skilled labor like managers, and top executives, to the best of my knowledge, there is none I know who is south of the Selale-Wollo Region. Not that I am advocating quota or any thing to that effect but a business run in a region is fairly expected to be the microcosm of the environment in which it operates, especially when it comes to the workforce.

Al-Amoudi has some hidden agenda besides business. And I usually shun conspiracy theories but when it comes to this Sheikh who is clearly a Saudi citizen and claims to be an ethiopian, I make an exception.

My simpathies to A.T. I hope God grants you the comfort you so deserve.

the Elcad dude that is trying so hard to impress us with his limited economic knowledge - Warren Buffet's portfolio consists of investment in stock markets only, whereas Alamoudi vast & varied business empire is composed of hospitality and oil business among others. Also maybe you forgot that just before this economic downturn the price of oil was outrageously high and this was the time the Sheikh had amassed a huge profit from his refineries in Sweden and Morocco. You are talking about anti-trust and all that garbage. The purpose this law was created is in order to protect competition and not to protect monopoly as you want to depict the business of this Alamoudi inside our country. So if ever you come up with that kind of capital that this Alamoudi guy is investing in Ethiopia no one will be in your way. Money is the language to do business and not your ignorance

They express their view points to the extent that one could, most of the time, discern from which background(ethnic) or political affiliation one belongs. Most of the time their opinions are not constructive but prejudiced that could not be otherwise as long as the system of domination(colonialism) is in place and as long as the oppressed is defending the oppressor.

While his making his profit help the country at the same time. It's called capitalisim..

What the genuin ethiopians need to understand is don't be blinded by the few from investing.

Even eriterans that hated ethiopia and to these days they do are going back to ethio by thousands

Even those eriterans that was protesting on front of imf,wb,us congress with cuds are travling

It is imperative for the hard working ethiopians abroad to invest in your country now.

Don't wait to long by getting blinded with few pessimest creatures around you.Now or never.

Pessimemts people often look at other people's success with resentment, jelosy & envy.

Remember successeful people look at other successful people as a means to motivate them selv

On the other hand pessimest(envious) people look at rich people as thier enemies.

It's no secret the hateful diasporas & eriterans focus on obstacles, negativity & evil.

While the hard working ethiopians back home focus on opportunities to help them selves.

Those of you lazy like the rasta's that blames money as the root of evil are shy of work.

Go tell that to a homless, because deep inside you are the lazy of lazys.

Ethiopians don't fall for that crap money is greatttttt.Start worshiping money respected.

This world evolve with money it's everything in this world.Yes every thing that holds lives.

My ethiopian people take care of what ever money you have on your hands. It'll take care of you.

Unlike the pentes who bribe ethiopians with expire can of food to change thier religions.

Atleast our former enemies the arabs are investing in billions which is great & strategic for ethio.

We well come any person with money to invest in ethiopia with out a hidden agenda.

To those of you lazy who keep telling us money is the evil.Keep in mind what money and do.

Money birr to some people it's morethan god for others second to god.

The pente church, muslims, catolics have the money to impose & bribe others to change thier faith.

Money is everything my friend it builds

Keep in mind you can be honest person & rich person. But you can not be both.

Shegaw yayew hulu yidenekal –

Hey Bozo! Change your stupid name to “Yayew hulu yafral”.

I admit, my training is neither economics nor knowing too much about Warren Buffet. But, seeing how clue less you are I am convinced that I have sufficient comprehension to cover you and alkies.

First, anti trust laws are designed to encourage competition and limit or avoid anti competition business practices (Monopoly). No need to be an expert to figure this out, just go to your nearest library and refill your dismal brain before vomiting in front of vast audiences and becoming a joke. Once you developed your awareness go back and explore how Alamoudin is screwing the whole country by monopolizing businesses from gold mining to car rental & from hotels to gas station. At the end you will find out the truth your self unless you are one of his hand out beneficiaries.

Second, you said “Warren Buffet's portfolio consists of investment in stock markets only, whereas Alamoudi vast & varied business empire is composed of hospitality and oil business among others” You couldn’t be more wrong. In fact, Warren Buffett holds the most diversified investment portfolio probably more than any of the top American billionaires. His range of investment includes – a stake in Coca Cola, - 100% ownership of steel manufacturing plant in Israel, - Petro china (Chinese oil co.), - a stake on the Washington Post and a furniture store chain based in his home state of Nebraska. His investment is so diversified; Warren Buffett at one time owned both Asbestos producing plant and the insurance company specializes in under writing of asbestos related claims. So smarty, I encourage you to organize your facts before you come up with your empty wisdom. You know? I do not like simple characters like you.

Finally, you said: “So if ever you come up with that kind of capital that this Alamoudi guy is investing in Ethiopia no one will be in your way. Money is the language to do business and not your ignorance” There is no question Alamoudin arrived with enough capital, again as uninformed as you come let me give you some facts – Alamoudin gets substantial amount of financing from central bank of Ethiopia. He borrowed more money than any of the investors. There is no transparency or playing by the rule when it comes to this guy. As far as your pity argument of “money is the language to do business” goes, again it shows you are such flimsy individual who uses every silly argument to attest his pathetic point. Under any system there has never been any law that allows the bigger fish to swallow the small one all the time, at least on paper. The problem with our country’s structure is – it doesn’t even guarantee the survival of those small fishes even for symbolic goal. Then people like Alamoudin do what they wish as long as they altered the minds and plug the pockets of your masters. This is easy to seize unless you are a complete moron as you seem or a cave man from the past millenniums. If you really are as idiotic & imprudent as you sound on your comment, you have long way to go and good luck to your slow journey..

I thought you were dead? I didn't know you have different lives like Snakes do. You are indeed exposing how timid, unassertive, ineffectual and uninformed you are every time you opened your unchecked mouth. Your understanding of reality doesn’t extend beyond your village mentality. This is the very reason for why you always fail to grasp & differentiate fact from fiction. You endlessly try to support your argument based on your past distress and your fear of other tribes except for your little midget. Well sorry for your pain but no compensation, dude.

I am not here to defend Dergue or any of the past rulers. But, for your information there was in fact a strict “Employers & Employees Act”. Manifested during the era of his majesty Haile selase I (the man who empowered & freed your ancestors). The labor act of 1953 was designated to reassure the basic right of employees in free market economy.

Finally, you said “The people you are disrespecting fought, died and bled for deep rotted values”

What exactly are those deep rotted values??? Cutting the country in slices and sell it to the highest bidder? Divide and conquer the same populous to extend their greedy political life? To, loot and dismantle the country’s wealth? I know you are mentally corrupted and morally in huge deficit to admit those. That’s why I pity you!

lekim, look at your argument and reasoning, i mean, it is laughable! Derg and Haile did this and that is your justification for the ills of Woyane, but if you fail and mismanage like the old regimes, then what is the difference between you and them? Are those what you called "the deep rooted values" the people we are "disrespecting" fought and died for? We think so and it seems that based on your reasoning you are in agreement with us! See, what you have fought never was for the greater good, you were rather looking for your turn to loot, mismanage, and undermine the sovereignty of the country. As you can recall, yesterday there was no rule for Derg's and the Fuedal's friends, and today Woyane's friends and cronies can get anything their way. They can get as much as they want from our banks, can delay their payment as long as they want, can get public projects and contracts without due process/bid........ we know what the business dealing between Woyane's and their cronies looks like, especially after Amare Aregawi's (former woyane) public out cries. I truly appreciate what the Shiek has done in the country when we don't have other options, but that never will be an excuse to pillage the country's resources.

Lekim the weyane cadre,

The fact that you are calling his Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie a midget says a lot about your low ranking, mannerless, raggedy, weyane jungle upbringing. I suggest you stick to the TOPIC or else I will tell you exactly what time it is punk!

Instead of badmouthing and trying to tarnish the reputation of Ethiopia’s legendary king who is highly regarded, respected and looked upon by the whole international community as one of the wisest African kings ever lived, why don’t you talk about your current midget? King Selassie is GONE leaving an ever lasting respect globally so get over it. Most importantly he was very charismatic, visionary and handsome to look at unlike this pit-bull looking, leprosy sufferer midget you call Meles.

Your Evil Meles has to be reborn a million times over to even level his majesty king Selassie.

TPLF rodents like you try and tarnish King Selassie’s as well as all other highly regarded Ethiopian king’s reputations/achievements with your poisonous propaganda day in and day out. Unfortunately for you, his excellency left a lasting positive impression/legacy all over the glob and all his deeds are highly respected and well documented internationally. Anybody can walk into any given library all over the globe and read about king Selassie, or watch him in action on archive videos without stepping a foot in Ethiopia!! Ordinary Ethiopians during his era looked very clean, tidy, fit and well nourished compare to current images of ordinary Ethiopians in the streets of Addis. Those outside of Addis are even worse, look well under fed! I suggest you educate yourself about king Selassie or his era.

No amount of TPLF labour law, minimum wage law, phantom budget, economy etc will change the fact that Ethiopia still remains one of the poorest nations on planet earth. 98% of the population is so destitute that they don’t even have the very basic things in life. This is by far worse than any era even Mengistu’s let alone compare to King Selassies'.

Emperor Selassie is one of the very few positive emblems that Ethiopia/Ethiopians currently have. If I remember history correctly, Ethiopia was considered as the bread basket of Africa and King Selassie as the greatest, most intelligent, visionary black leader ever lived. Try and show his face to any educated person all over the world and they will tell you exactly who he is, how highly respected, honoured, visionary leader he was and still remains larger than life character even God knows how many years after his death. In comparison with your Midget Meles who is barely recognizable despite being in power for almost two decades. If anybody recognize your midget at all, it is for his notorious dictatorship, killing sprees and begging skills.

King Selassie invited most influential leaders of his era to his palace as a host and they bowed in his presence. While Meles invites himself at international gatherings like G8 meetings and uses the platform as begging venue, sitting in the corner with his fellow beggars. Now, that is clear difference between his excellency king Selassie and your Meles. You dare to open your filthy weyane mouth and insult a king who laid solid foundation to Ethiopia and Africa as a whole. Ethiopians were very proud and highly regarded people during his era except handful unfortunate circumstances. You only have to look at our parent’s generations! But now? All we are known for is hunger, considered as walking skeletons and laughing stocks of the world topped with shameless beggar as leader.

The fact that you are comparing an old era with 21st century systems shows you have little or no brain at all to reason with. King Selassie run an entirely different feudal system like most kingdoms at the time which isn’t fit for purpose in 21st century . Time has moved on since then just in case you haven’t noticed? Only Ethiopia still remains a good few hundred years behind everybody!

Instead of living in the past, just to feel better about the current evil regime, why not concentrate on the TOPIC and FUTURE? I am sick and tired of you low life TPLF clowns bashing all past leaders of Ethiopia (minus your Tigre leaders of course) and nobody is telling you where to freaking get off! Just get over it and move the hell on. Dwelling in the past and concentrating solely on negatives is typical TPLF character and that is not going to take you anywhere.

Last but not least, could you tell me if Queen Elizabeth II of UK doesn’t have thousands of her citizens as servants in the 21st century? Can you tell me how all the remaining kingdoms in Europe, Middle East and Asia amassed their wealth? Do they live at the same level as their beloved citizens? Or do they even marry or mingle with their ordinary citizens? Can you also tell me if kings/queens/princess and princesses of these kingdoms will not assassinate their citizens if anybody dares to crosses their path negatively in the 21st century? Let alone Haile Selassies’s era?

Imagine how these kingdoms were like hundreds of years ago? What you don’t hear current EU, Middle East and Asians do is disrespect their past system no matter what. They concentrate on positive achievements not because their past kingdoms didn’t oppress, execute or harm their ancestors but they are intelligent enough to realise that they can’t change their past!!

You weyane morons should move on and lay of all Ethiopian past leaders! Concentrate on what you are currently doing to the country for that is what is relevant at the moment. Past is past and GONE! Bunch of retarded thieves.

one way or the other; orthodox numbers are shrinking, you can't blame on anyone but the church itself institutionally isolated, people are looking else where to fulfil their spiritual needs, imported faiths are welcoming, they visit in homes bible lesson in the language people understand, unlike our Geez orthodox, i read Wengel Dawit when i was little didn't understand a thing all i did was Manebneb. Islam also expanding, nothing wrong with that absolutely, however i am against any extreme radical faith undermines tolerance coexistence of different faiths in a country, i don't like the attitude mine is the best. regarding the Shiek Alamoudi i actually think he does better job governing the country than habashas if he does not carried away with Wahhabi stuff, habasha leaders failed us time and time again doesn't matter which ethnic, Meles who i thought would be our saver from hunger, poverty, disease turned out to be one of the worst liar ever, what do we get? food Aid year on year, we are addicted to Aid.

Addis Girl,

One thing Mengistu did right was to chop that coward dick head Haile Selassie and buried him underneath of his chair farcing on your chicken head king dead body for 17 years.

I do not understand why you have so much sympathy for that traitor king. He conducted the Italian war in 1935 so badly, we could have won the war if the king had a normal head like Ras Alula, King Menelik, Quen Tahitu and the other brave ancestors. Haile Selassie put many armies in Addis Ababa, in Wello, in Mai chew 70k, Mekelle 80k, Shire 40k and Tembien 70k under Ras Seyoum and Ras Kassa against 100k Italians and 30K Askaris Eritreans. The Italian General decided to fight the Tembien front first and Ras Seyoum and Ras kassa had 3 days fight and drove the enemies back across Adwa and he was to ret rive his solders but he changed his mind and sent reinforcement from the Mekele front and gave them a new energy to win the whole war. If Haile Selassie had sent his all solders to the war front all from Addis Ababa, Wello, Mai chew and Mekelle, we could have won the war in a short period of time.

It is not only made mistake how he mobilized Ethiopians but he fled to exile abandoning our brave fathers with out a leader. He should have been killed up on his return to Ethiopia and Mengistu did it for our hero fathers who fought and drove the enemy at last.

Do you know that King Haile Seleassie was none Amhara?? His father Ras Mekonen was from Tigray Tembien and his mother was from Harar none Amhara ethnic. Even though he was from Tigray, we Tigrians respect King Menelik and his wife than the coward Haile Selassie.

Dear Nazret,

How come you are not posting the war in Ethiopia going on that was posted on BBC today between the Borana and Somalis, many people are displaced! This is worrisome. What is the government doing about it? If Al Amoudi is indeed cares about it, how come he is not building water wells for both the Somalis and Borana? How much will it cost him? This is sick. This is done as usual to create war between ethnic lines that TPLF divided the land and especially built wells right between these peoples borderline. How brutal can you get? It is being done for political reason so that TPLF continues to be in power. Shame. Take a look at this.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7929104.stm

Al Amoudi, I dare you to build wells for these people rather than looking at them kill each other. There has never been such animosity before. You are going to blame the Climate change, well, our land is being given away to foreigners so that they grow flowers using water that the people drink as well as contaminating the water and killing the people. What are these foreigners are doing for them? Zilch, nada, in fact, the foreigners get cheap labor thinking they are creating job for the poor when in fact the farmers want to grow their own food rather than work under another. This is colonialism in the making. Shame on you TPLF and EPRDF

The predicament of being a success and having a league of your own in Ethiopia is that everyone, including the one-eyed and one-legged midget, thinks that you either owe him/her something or you must be a fraud. If Al Amoudi ever gets a heart attack, it would be because of our infatuation with and inability to fathom his success! As I said before, reporting on other rich and successful Ethiopians, however incomparable their wealth/success is to that of Al Amoudin, would help him by taking some of the stalking disbelief and curisoity pressures of off his back. Do you guys inherit part of your brains from the dry rocky landscape you seem to have plenty of in your region? Lets just say for arguments sake that King Selassie did BAD for he is not a Saint? What the hell are you going to do about it NOW? Can you undo what he had done? What good is that to concentrate on negative aspects of every past regime and insult and try and tarnish all? There is absolutely nothing you can change, NADA, ZERO! All your insults, arguments, oppositions may have been valid if you were talking about current situations?

That’s why I said move the freaking hell on. Learn from civilized part of the world Europeans/Arabs/Asians etc how to balance things and move forward. Dingay ras Weyane! What good would it be to degrade past regimes non stop 24/7 when you should be concentrating on what you can change (THE FUTURE)?? Our people don’t even have bread to eat that’s what should be of concern to you weyane rats. Your region Tigray is even worse off. Last time I went on tour, almost all of you look like walking skeletons/distressed. How about concentrating on that? Feed the nation?

By the way, I don’t give a flying f**** about which tribe King Selassie comes from, not interested and I simply don’t want to know. As for Menge killing King Selassie is the best thing? Well, I am sure he is haunted by what he did for the rest of his life. All is in the PAST so Just freaking move on from the past few hundred years and step into 21st century with other nations. Alkasha … As if you don’t have enough to cry about in your personal life i.e. being discarded like a pair of old shoes from your weyane circle for one? Addis Girl,

Why are you venting your frustration on the wrong topic and blame others for the same.

Al-Amoudi has done his share and more to Ethiopians and Ethiopia's cause compared to that of your midget king you praise and kings before him. No one can deny his share in history including his positive contribution, even though minimal compared to the country's potential.

If one wants to praise one can even praise Mengistu's legacy as a rosy picture that can be narrated in such a way how he has dismantled the feudal system and empowered the neglected people that has even benefited the incumbent government in many ways.

Without hair splitting one has to admit that investment in the country is one of the only way the country can stand on it's feet which Al-Amoudi is doing.

Get over your hatred, be it on the political ground or religion, and accept the fact what is benefiting the country and it's people.

As far as Meles is concerned with his minuses and pluses, he is one of highly motivated with intellectual caliber but confronted with endless and backward and hatred filled intellectuals who are dragging the country not to go out of misery.

Cheers

My fear:

WC aka Addis Girl, elcad, the archaic feudal slave aka Free Let me tell you that the truth hurts and it is showing. I also want to reassure you that from the day that diminutive emperor used the British Air force to slaughter thousands of peasants who opposed his cowardly rule after abandoning his country in times of dire needs, we never looked back. Yes, moved on, took an epic journey to reclaim our human dignity and Ethiopian citizenship. My argument was never and will never be about ‘we did better that the previous tribal hoodlums and therefore you have to excuse the transgressions of the current government’. My argument has always being about the past being the key to our present and future. Without full understanding of the murderous tribal system that you continue warship (worship Haile Sellassie and voting for Ato Hailu a minister of the murderous Mengistu regime are a case in point), it is difficult to avoid repeating the same debilitating mistakes. It is my firm belief that EPRDF can do better. It is also my resolute belief that EPRDF is the only, all-inclusive democratic, albeit not perfect, government in the entire history of our country. It is also my firm beliefs that a new generation of leaders will take over and surpass everything that has been done by EPRDF thus far. Using languages such as “beggar” and “rocky landscape” to characterize the current PM and his heritage is a concrete proof that it is you who is stuck in the past and the poisonous tribal propaganda force-fed to you by the tribal regimes of Haile Sellassie and Mengistu. I must tell you that characterizing Haile Sellassie as a “highly regarded legendary king” leaves me no options but to unequivocally concluded that are not only stuck in the past but you live in a fictitious world. The only legacy that one can realistically associate with Haile Sellassie is the legacy of famine, death and destruction as a result of utter incompetence. WC aka Addis Girl, I am glad to see that you finally came out of the closet.

Some one said Haile Sellasie is not Amhara but tigre. It doesn't matter but he was true Ethiopian. If he is tigre however, then all of us are tigre. It depend how you see it.

The tigre amhara thing is very recent divisions among Abyssinian.
In the history of Ethiopia different tribes have claimed as sovereigns heaven knows whether there was any thing called amara or tigre.

1) Tribe of ORI
2) Tribe of KAM
3)Kingdom of JOKTAN before Minilik 1
98 kings and queens
4) Dynasty of Minilik 1 or Solomonic
before Christ about 165 kings and queens. 35 After Christ until 306 AD.
Then after Ezana (Christianity) even the names of kings and queens change very much by taking christian names like Gebre kirsots etc.
Then come the Zagwe
Back to Solomon
The house of Gondar
Solomon etc

Let me give you the name of our king or queen at one moment in our history and tell me if he/she was amhara or tigre

King Gariak 1
Queen Borsa
King Elektron
Queen Nehasset Nais
King Etiyopus I
Queen Kasiope
Minilik I
Queen Nicuata Kandake

Even the names Hagos or Andargachew are simply histories of only yesterday. So don't make big deal out of very shallow things.

Don't they know he is the Ethiopian Madoff?

Privatization is the transfer of property from the public sector to the private sector. Eastern European countries did it in an equitable manner. It has to be known that, first, public enterprises are the properties of citizens; Each citizen is an owner of each public enterprise. Second, concentrating public properties in the hands of a few individuals perpetuates injustice. So what the East European did was that they organized each public enterprise into a share and then transfer the share to each employee of the public enterprises and, in some countries, to each citizen above 18. This is what the Chezch, Hungary and Poland government did.

What happened in Ethiopia? 87% of the public wealth from public enterprises is transfered to Almoudin, 12% to EFFORT, and the rest to other investors(I did a research on this topic). This type of concentration of public wealth by way of privatization in the hands of one individual never happened in any other country, even Russia.

Shegaw-yayew hulu yidenkal, I am certainly maintaining the constitutional monarchy of Ethiopia lives forever as it is our tradition and is the great unifying force for Ethiopia as it has been under the monarch that Ethiopia has maintained its independence, freedom and human rights for all. The monarchy maintains the church as the head of Ethiopia as Ethiopia is universally recognized as an island of christianity. Even in this new millenium we can learn and respect the constitutional monarchy of Great Britain. Although the history of Great Britain under a monarchy is far less than the 3000 years of Ethiopias Solomon dynasty, this could probably explain why the British have still failed to recognize sharia law for its moslem population, while Haile Selassie recognizes the needs of tolerance and a just society where the weak are not mauled by the strong and the poor are not oppressed by the oppressor. With all this in mind Ethiopia shall always be governed by an Emporer for everyone of us here will one day face his maker and answer for his actions. Other comments posted by Agam andHalf Mengedi I will leave you with the words of my father "Our labours may go unnoticed except to ourselves, and in the fullest sense this is how it should be for we are men and this is mans lot." “I am certainly maintaining the constitutional monarchy of Ethiopia lives forever as it is our tradition” ….Shiloh Selassie What do you mean by “our traditions”? What percentage of Ethiopia is represented by your traditional monarch? What are your bases for assuming that your traditional monarchy represents anything Ethiopian? Did you know that your monarchy had a constitution that didn’t recognize the Oromos as humans? I ca see all of you primordial monarchist chocking on the simple facts of what you did and continue to represent. Asta Luwego amigo.

let me remind you that 35 years have gone since your monarchy had been abolished. and it seems to me that you are delusional by comparing your haile selassie with Jesus Christ. Maybe it's time to make appointment to see a Dr. @ Emmanuel Hospital

when you wrote Haile Selassie recognizes the needs of tolerance and a just society where the weak are not mauled by the strong and the poor are not oppressed by the oppressor- you must be either very old and senile or really out of this world. Go talk this nonsense to the Oromos or the Somalis and they will spit on your face. Haile was the worst leader in modern Ethiopia.

This man did not invest 2bln in Ethiopia. He borrowd his investement from the Ethiopian Banks that is the fact and he has not been paying. As for his wealth, it grew after he was handed the gold mine. I do believe that to be a shared arrangement between Meles & Co and the Sheik. We should be told how much Meles and Co is worth. People wake up and smell the coffee...

Lekim,

I really thank you for expressing how you feel from the heart. But I can guarantee you what you stated will remain among a few who have come to our homes, as you like to mention time and again, uninvited. Haile Selassie might have used English bombers to bomb Tigray, but Yohannes raised Gojjam to the ground, and Tewodros slaughtered a third of Wello. Many more things have been done by one part of the nation to the other. But most have moved on. They do not dwell in the past and talk about things that happened many decades ago. My advice to you, forget about the past, think about the future. This current regime of TPLF has laid out a treacherous road that will in the end lead Ethiopians to a bloodbath never seen before. And trust me those from your region are the undisputed targets when that day arrives. You can brush it off any way you like, but it is the inevitable road we are tarveling to, like a path charted by a pilot destined to carry his passengers to a certain city on this Earth. Past leaders where ever they came from, what ever region province, once they come to power, they see the whole nation as one. They never ever "give and take" on her sovreignity. They never chart a map for the division and hatred among the people of Ethiopia. My humble question to you is, what happened to that way of thought that was prevelant among the people of Tigray? All you have to do is read the letters Atse Yohanes used to write. It was always about Ethiopia, you will not find one place about Amara this, Tigrae that. Even when he is in great anger at one place he cursed one of Menelik's officials (Meshesha Worke)..yemayreba Gonderae. Gabito, Gonderae not Amara.....region my friend not disgusting ethnic. Never never never ever, it was region. You shoot your way to power, and wipe out the provinces and bring Mussolini's ethnic bantustan, and we are supposed to just swallow it whole? Be real,I am Amara, I am Oromo, I am Guraghe, I am Afar, I even have a trace of Tigrae, but I am nothing but a Shewan. Do not think for a second we will accept the distruction of our home. You will do the same if an ethnic militia settles in your home and tell you no more Tigray. That is the core of the problem. Roads built, democracy tuba tuba, University this, 25% growth, noone will listen to you. Plus more than all humility will win the day. Tell your friends in power to show a little bit of that. They eat and sleep on our land, and at the same time spit on our face night and day. You guessed it, we will pick up the biggest mirror and hold it to their face til kingdom come. Do not be fooled Lekim, things are not rosey. And it is not the "neftegnas" and what was that other word, yeah, "chauvinists" who are saying this. Its everyone. I wish you meet up with an Adere friend of mine. Night and day, at work, Tigrae this Tigrae that, I try to tell her, what does a poor Tigrae has to do with it, to no avail, I avoid her. Everybody hates you, and Adere was supposed to be one of the tiny few who benefited greatly in the past 18 years.

To all TPLF Cadres here,

Is there SPECIAL history books/accounts of events/archive videos/news reports etc solely for TPLF cadres to get all these garbage information from? Everything I know about King Selassie or other past eras comes from Internationally documented, acknowledged sources, facts/historians/news archives etc not even an Ethiopian source that you may consider bias. Nowhere that I read a line or watched a videos referring to what you TPLF paid cadres claim here as if you were King Selassie’s right hand men/Information Ministers at the time?

Could you please let me know where you get your sources from (evidence which is older than TPLF era please and documented by internationally acclaimed body) as I don’t want any weyane recycled story.

Only online paid cadres happen to have lived during all past eras including Minilik’s and witnessed atrocities 1st hand, experienced what happened then on a daily basis. Nevertheless, what they had witnessed is not documented anywhere? I didn’t know you guys can live as long as that? Last I checked, average life expectancy in Ethiopia wasn’t that long :p:p

As if all the GARBAGE we read from you here is not enough, you also happen to have seen /heard King Selassie order the Brits to kill his own people?

I’d read most of you TPLF’ despicable comments on that Adwa report page the other day and I couldn’t help but laugh reading as you describe events during the war, dropping names and numbers, describing heroes from your tribes in ACTION as if you were there in person but somehow, not even a single documented sources or any factual evidence was used as reference!!

... and now when we tell you to concentrate on future and current issues, you claim “one must understand the past to move on to future“? Well, not fabricated past!!!!

If you cadres for a second think only old people appreciate King Selassie and Ethiopia’s kingdoms, think again! I don’t see any young Ethiopians either in Addis or internationally wearing and appreciating Meles’s face on T-shirt, proudly displaying it on their cars, see him as role model or anything like that as oppose to all past King’s? Whether you like it or not, King Selassie, Minilik etc are by far the most popular, larger than life characters even in death, adored amongst young Ethiopians NOW than ever!

Especially with information age, availability of VALID/historical information within a mouse click or a trip to referenced library away. We read & learn more about our history, previous kings and their true deeds and how they made their country proud internationally! They managed to save the nation from foreign colony and atrocious slavery but Meles and Co are managing to make current Ethiopians especially their tribes Sufferers of MENATL SLAVERY.

Now the past is GONE leaving a legacy that not only Ethiopians but other Africans, African Americans/ black people all over the world are so proud of!!

I suggest weyane maggots move on and concentrate on what matters currently instead of trying to rewrite history based on your jungle bedtime stories that your relatives told you.

Your Evil ass is on the mission to discredit anything and everything credible about Ethiopia’s past EXCEPT the Tigray Kingdoms of course. I feel sorry for young people in Ethiopia as they can’t even get any neutral/factual source of information as you block all credible international sites, impartial national news papers, imprison neutral or opposition journalists and close down any challenging media within.

Unlike you cadres, we read well documented historical facts/events as we have access to it outside of Ethiopia, not story/hear say fabricated by TPLF paid cadres or your ACCOUNTS OF EVENTS as witnessed by your 200 + year old selves, your grandfather or uncle! Get over yourselves …

Most people these days keep quiet when you discredit our true history and listen to your bullshit just because they are scared of being branded as Amhara, neftena, derg, Eritreans etc when showing true support , love and unity for their country. But, hey, as you weyane rats CLEARLY noticed by now, I don’t give a flying fudge about what you think! :p

shewarega its obvious you feel very strongly about the ethnic federal system, but what about those who are against the old system. i dont want to go to ethnicity but if you see most parties and fronts in and outside of ethiopia that are fighting against the government, not many are against it and these parties have millions of ethiopian followers just like you. what about them? the point is no one is right and there is no system perfect or evil. dont get me wrong, just like you, i wish we didnt have this ethnic thing, but that isnt upto me. we need to live with what we have, make the best of it and reform it as we go on as no system, the old or the new, is perfect.

I don't want to criticise you Bro, but you don't make any sense when you wrote this paragraph:"They eat and sleep on our land, and at the same time spit on our face night and day" - If Ethiopia is for all of us as you keep on preaching then why are you saying to this dude from Tigray "our land" ??? Aren't you contradicting yourself by preaching Ethiopia for all ethiopians at the same time telling this dude "our land" So according to you Ethiopia is not inclusive for people with Tigray blood circulating in their veins.

dereje,

That will be decided by the Ethiopian people. The people will have the final say. But having said that, I can assure you my home province of Shewa will stay nothing but that, SHEWA. If you check out the 1984 census, 9.2 million Ethiopians, out of 40 million, lived in Shewa. We are multiethnic, and are perfectly happy to stay as such. That will take care of 25% of the problem. The rest will be decided case by case. The most paramount thing is that, this ethnic based division ceases. They don't have Anglo Saxon zone, Hispania, Black zone, Native American zone, Asian Autonomous region, Mexicani zone, etc etc in the United States. They don't attck English, in the name of equality for other languages. There is always a balance, to improve and bulid on things. What we are doing is to divide the nation, just to make it easier for a handful to stay in power, and loot her resources unchallenged.

My friend Shewarega I respect your opinion and contribution. Let me reassure that no one that I know is stuck in the past. To the contrary, where I come from people after Haile Sellassie’s payback people saw the writing on the wall and moved on. We are here with you and here to stay my friend as equal and full citizens. I must also tell you that I am disappointed to hear that, you, like all the rest believe that the current government is purely a TPLF clique or an “ethnic militia settles”. I can truly tell you that, and I understand some of you don’t agree with it, but the current government is the most inclusive and democratic government in our history. This is a government which represents the mosaic makeup of Ethiopia and unfortunately it is being characterize as an ethnic government simply because the PM and some of his colleagues don’t fit your mold of the “traditional rulers”. Did you say “those from your region are the undisputed targets when that day arrives?” Let me tell you that I have seen the vilest hate that anyone could ever see, when the Mengistu army showed up in my village, lined up men, women, children and slaughtered everything that moved. I can reassure you that I will never see anything worst than that. Addis Girl, hmm, so you are telling us that your fictitious world was an international creation. If I were you I will go for home grown and there is plenty of teret from your traditional rulers.

Lekim,

You know perfectly well everything that was done to you by Derg was done to us too. We ve been thru that many times before. I will not be redundant. I have spoken my mind, as the good book says, Joro yalew yesema.

Shegaw Menamen,

Yes, you just love to critcise me, do not say otherwise. I am not a person stuck on this ethnic or that, because I have many, I do not need to do that. I will any day accept anyoone to administer my region Shewa, if he is for unity and true equality. A person like Aman Andom, even one like Siye Abraha, who rose out of regionalism but changed his ways from the heart. But let me ask you a question. Do you think a non TPLF Tigrayan, let alone an Ethiopian outside Tigray will have any chance of being say the President of Tigray zone? The answer is no. So what gave Arkebe the right of being the mayor of Addis Abeba, for example? Other than temenja ena shigute. What was Bitew Belay doing in the so called Southern Region, sucking everything he can lay his hands on until an internal squabble threw him out of TPLF? Once again, if we take a parallel with the United States, anyone can hold any office in any State, as long as he is resident of that State. They don't have ethnically based States, then some of the States are like no go areas, ruled by people of one ethnic, one party. Then the same people go to all parts of the country acting and ordering like foreign occupiers. Plus our provinces were wiped off the face of the Earth. That is the biggest crime of it all. Mengistu killed all the persons that counted, but this was something that noone will stand for. A weak and feeble generation, that loves to condemn the past (they were not even born then, silu semahu new negeru), and are unable to even comprehend the severity of the crime being done to them, let alone mount the appropriate resistance. Noone my friend noone has the right to tell me SHEWA does not exist. It did so for a thousand years, with its muti ethnic colorful self, it resides in our hearts, and it will be restored in due time.

Yayew, the statement above is opinion of yours. The trouble is Haile is the one who modernize Ethiopia itself.

So your premise and conclusion contradict each other then your thesis is flat wrong. You have no point except inferiority complex. Sorry for you but we can lift you up by educating you if you are open to learn. Many people have first hand experience with Haile in this world and all will disagree with you. They think you must have come from some cave where no modern man have ever been there.
