1 February 11, Friday, 2011Out of all the billionaires in the world, there are only six of African decent and only one from the United States. Doesn’t that deserve a little more credit?
In celebration of Black History Month 2011, I want to shine light on the six black billionaires who have proven to the world that ANYONE can acquire “the American dream” if dedication and persistence is involved.
Mohammed Al Amoudi
The richest Ethipoian and the richest black man in the world with a net worth of $9 billion! Amoudi built his fortune from several businesses such as oil, mining, agriculture, hotels, hospitals, finance operations and maintenance.
He definetly didn’t forget where his roots lie because he has given his home country nearly $1 billion in donations.
Aliko Dangote
Dangote has claimed the second spot on the list of black billionaires from Nigeria with a net worth of nearly $3.3 billion.
He began his business, The Dangote Group when he was 21 years old, establishing early his determination to come out on top. Now, his company has expanded massively and manufactures and distributes a number of foods being the largest sugar market in Nigeria.
